The RS5 Car is the dream and reality of Mr. József Cserkuti & his son Gabor. József has a successful history in real touring car racing like winning the Hungarian National Championship 23 times as well as winning the Vice-European Hill-Climb Championship. His then company, called Racing Systems, built & developed real racing cars.
The first RS5 was produced in 2001, with a pushrod shock system on the front, which was in some way popular. This continued, with other developments on the RS5 car until 2007, when they changed to a conventional suspension set-up on the front. The RS5 car has one major difference compared to other 1:5th Scale cars which is the Carbonfibre Monocoque chassis. This adds stiffness to the chassis that is not available in other cars and allows the driver more consistency when finding a set-up and allows the car to work and react better on the suspension.
Since its first production car in 2001 RS5, József & his Son Gabor, have worked hard to develop and make the car better year after year. The car has won many National Championships around the world as well as many European Grand Prix’s.
Year after year the car has grown stronger, faster and better for all drivers. RS5’s biggest success with the RS5 1:5th Scale Car came in 2011.
After coming so close in the 2010 European Championships (Czech Republic), at the 2011 European Championships (Leipzig, Germany) their dream came true when RS5 won the European Championships.
Ales Bayer qualified in 1st place after Qualifying but was unlucky not to get into the Main Final, alhough he did break the lap record!
However Martin Bayer, his older brother, qualified into 2nd place for the Main Final.
Within the first 10mins he passed 1st place, 5 Time Winner Marcus Feldmann, and controlled the race easily to finish 1st, giving RS5 their very first European Championship win.
